Les becs d'Autan was founded by Philippe, a Graduate Saxophonist, based on the observation that the mouthpiece is the determining element of the saxophonist's sound, often more than the instrument itself. "The mouthpiece and the reed are the vocal cords of the instrument"... As such, your mouthpiece requires very special attention.
Since 2021 it manufactures, for beginners, advanced, and professionals, very high quality mouthpieces without compromise and offers you refacing/repair services for your mouthpieces.

Design
Mouthpieces created by a saxophonist for saxophonists.
The geometry of the mouthpieces is carried out entirely by "Les Becs d'Autan", from the first prototype to the final model, in 3D computer design. This is based on the careful analysis of several hundred vintage mouthpieces, on experience in refacing, and on numerous acoustic tests.
The making
“Les Becs d’Autan” mouthpieces are entirely machined in mass using CNC machines. The very high precision of the machining gives the mouthpieces a consistent manufacturing quality on each example, and easy sound emission in all registers.
Each mouthpiece is then adjusted by hand (refacing) with a precision of 1/100th of a mm according to our artisanal know-how, then played and tested individually to obtain an exceptional and unique mouthpiece.
